Day 1: Marrakech - The high Atlas Mountains -Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades Valley

Continuing our route, we’ll reach Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Driving through Skoura, Mgouna Valley (also known as the Roses Valley), and other picturesque Berber towns, we’ll make a stop at the famous Taourirt Kasbah, a historic fortified palace and renowned film studio. Here, you can explore the kasbah and learn about its rich history.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

On the Second day of our Sahara Desert 4-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, After departing from Dades Valley in the early morning, our first stop will be the magnificent Todra Gorges. These gorges are known for their stunning beauty and grandeur. Upon reaching Merzouga, we will either have some free time to relax and explore the surroundings, or we will proceed directly to the camel trekking experience. The camel ride into the dunes usually begins between 17:00 and 18:00, allowing you to witness the mesmerizing sunset over the vast sand dunes.

During the camel trek, guided by experienced local camel handlers, you will venture deeper into the heart of the dunes of Erg Chebbi. As you journey through the desert, you will be enveloped by the tranquility and beauty of the Sahara

Upon arriving at the desert camp after an hour of camel riding, you’ll receive a warm welcome with a traditional cup of refreshing mint tea, symbolizing Berber hospitality. Take a moment to settle into the camp and admire the mesmerizing sunset over the Sahara Desert, embracing the tranquil atmosphere while enjoying your tea.

Later in the evening, a delectable dinner will be served at the restaurant tent within the camp. Indulge in the flavorful Moroccan cuisine, savoring the diverse and aromatic flavors of the region. After the meal, immerse yourself in the lively beats and rhythmic drumming of Berber music around the campfire.

Following that, take a leisurely stroll across the sand dunes, marveling at the vastness of the desert and its captivating beauty. Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Alnif - Agdaz - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

On the third day of our 4 days Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, you’ll have the option to wake up early and witness the captivating sunrise by climbing the dunes. Moreover, the breathtaking view of the sun emerging over the horizon will create a truly magical experience. After enjoying this natural spectacle, you’ll have breakfast, freshen up with a shower, and then embark on a morning camel trek or jeep ride back to the starting point.

 

Once you have returned from the camel trek, you will meet your driver/guide and begin the journey towards Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will make a stop in Rissani, a town known for hosting one of the largest traditional markets in southern Morocco. This will give you the opportunity to explore the vibrant market and immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere.

Continuing our 4 Day Desert Trips from Marrakech, we will cross the vast and stony desert, passing through a few Berber villages, and eventually reach the stunning Draa Valley. During this leg of the trip, we will take our time to appreciate the beauty of the Draa Valley and make any necessary stops along the way.

Depending on the duration of our pauses and the departure time from Merzouga, we anticipate arriving in Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Ouarzazate is a city known for its film studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah. Spending the night in Ouarzazate will allow you to relax and rejuvenate before continuing our journey the following day.

On the final day of our 4 days Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, we’ll start the morning after breakfast in our hotel. We’ll depart from Ouarzazate and make our way to Ait Ben Haddou, an iconic location that has served as a backdrop for numerous famous Hollywood productions, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is a remarkable and well-preserved fortified structure, holding historical significance as one of the key forts along the Old Salt Road.

Upon reaching Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll explore the Kasbah, marveling at its intricate architecture and rich history within its walls.
