Merzouga Overnight Desert Camp itinerary
Join us for This overnight camel trek in Merzouga to discover more about the nomadic way of life while camping in the Moroccan Sahara and taking pleasure in a night’s sleep in the open air. The journey departs from Merzouga village at 4 or 5 p.m. and travels across the desert dunes to a camp; it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to ride a camel through the dunes to get there. If you choose not to ride a camel, we can transport you by car.
Our desert experience includes more than just an overnight camp in Merzouga; it also includes an amazing camel ride in Merzouga and a night in the Erg-Chebbi desert, where you’ll have the chance to watch the sun set over the sand dunes and learn about the Berber nomads’ mode of transportation when they traveled across the Sahara desert on camels. When you arrive at our camp, we’ll give you a cup of tea and lead you to your individual tent. You will be served dinner at our camp restaurant before joining the party fire drums music gathering. Before going to bed, take a stroll on the dunes close to the camp to view the stars and Milky Way.
You must get up early the following morning to see the sunrise, have breakfast, and then we’ll ride camels back or jeep to our lodge in the town of merzouga.
